Energy Union - It’s time to CELEBRATE
Energy Union is a campaign tour, and Coldcut (Ninja Tune) are on board with their new AV film. It’s a show about Intelligent Energy as a solution to many global problems such as economic recession and climate change.
Coldcut’s new show harnesses the power of music and visuals to gatecrash parties and festivals all over Europe. The show is combined with policy forums and an interactive exhibition.
The campaign tour spans two years: it kicked off in Munich in July 2009. The final tour stop will take place in Brussels in March 2011. In total 24 tour stops are organised in 12 countries including Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, UK, Netherlands and Belgium.

The campaign comprises a European network of organisations from different fields of expertise: Intelligent Energy experts, event promoters, environmental groups and multi-media artists.

It enabled the industrial revolution and provided the basis for our modern life, but:
* Old Power is dirty and pollutes our environment – air, water and soil.
* Greenhouse gas emissions caused by burning fossil fuels are the main driving force for
climate change.
* Fossil energy resources are limited. As they run low, prices rise and more and more people
will struggle to pay for the energy they need.
* Our energy need increases daily, and we continue to import fossil fuels.
* High dependency on energy imports causes political instability and wars fought for oil.
